The Beginning

When the Circus began

"A Creatures Cage" formed from an idea in Atlanta GA when Jason Caldwell was away from his band and writing and recording in his home studio.  Releasing two albums in 2019 on all of the streaming platforms "A Creatures Cage" was released upon the world.  The First Album "The Darkness" features the song "We Die Weeping" which became added to the soundtrack on the second episode of the hit T.V. series TRICKSTER from the CBC and has aired across the world including on the CW. After moving back home to Mobile Alabama, Jason linked up with some of his old band mates from their older band "Mr. Meaner" and his brother "Paul Caldwell" to form what is now "A Creatures Cage".  Their first EP "Uncaged & Bleeding" releases on all platforms May 7th 2021 and is available to purchase now on this website.  "A Creatures Cage" Looks forward to the future and thanks you for you interest.

Jason Caldwell

Guitar & Vocals

Jason began playing guitar at 13 years old and began sneaking into bars at 16 to watch his brother Paul Caldwell play and to also sit in one or two songs.  This became almost a weekly thing until Jason began playing in bands of his own.  At 21 years old Jason Joined his brother Paul and began playing on cruise ships, traveling around the world. In total Jason Played on 8 different cruise ships for Carnival and Royal Caribbean.  Jason has written and recorded music since he first began playing.  In 2017 Jason received a phone call from Grammy award winning bassist "David Ellefson" from the band "Megadeth" and after much advice added eleven songs to his "Molten" music catalog in the "APM Music Library" for film and T.V.  This is where the idea for "A Creatures Cage" came from.  Jason loves all types and styles of music and in 2018 and 2019 began to write and record a southern rock and country album in his bedroom studio under the name "Jay Daniels" Daniel being his middle name he went with it and got signed to a Nashville label "Dark Lonesome Records" and released three singles with them.  Jason still writes and records under the name "Jay Daniels" but is now focusing on his first love of "METAL" and everything that is to come.

John Grubbs

John started playing his own drums when he was six years old. Before that, it was pots & pans.  John had his 1st experience on stage at 12 years old with his mothers band in front of 1500 people for 2 songs and he was hooked for life. John has been fortunate to play some big shows and events over the years with some great players. John had the opportunity to open for bands such as “Tantric” (twice), “Skid Row”, “Taproot”, “Me talk Pretty”, “Eve to Adam” and “Seasons After” with his band “Swyrl”. John also performed live on the radio with his band “Swirl” which also took first place in the “International Music Festival Battle of the Bands” in NYC (such a long drive but a lifetime experience).  Since all of that, John has started a YouTube channel called “One Attempt Sessions” and moved back to Alabama and reunited with his old brother's from the band “Mr. Meaner”. The rest is yet to come!
